A Day at the Races (Sam Wood, 1937)

7/10
The first Marx brothers movie I've ever seen, it has its ups and downs. Basically I thought it was too long with too much extraneous stuff (the song and dance numbers). But the stuff with Groucho, Chico and Harpo was great, I wish it focused more on their hijinks and ran a bit shorter.

8 1/2 (Federico Fellini, 1963)

8.5/10
No pun intended with the rating. Okay maybe a little. Quite an impressive movie, I feel like I have to watch it 10 more times before everything starts to sink in. It's so self-referential I feel like I only know a fraction of what the film is about after a single viewing. Heavy.

Zombie Holocaust (Marino Girolami, 1980)

4/10
Or Zombi Holocaust or Zombie 3. Interesting premise pitting zombies and cannibals (sort of) against each other but the movie is quite boring, and the plot is pretty much a mess. The best features are the gore (which is quite gruesome) and the catchy/creepy synth soundtrack. Otherwise, there's much better zombie movies to spend your time with.

Gone Baby Gone (Ben Affleck, 2007)

7/10
I liked it, it just didn't blow me away like I was expecting since everyone else loved it so much. The script was fine, the acting was very good, but I dunno I just didn't really get into it that much. Still, pretty impressive directing debut for Ben Affleck, and Casey Affleck is a really good actor, I don't get why he isn't in more things.
