I think knowing more about Italy & its politics would've helped as I got lost pretty easily at times. It's hard to believe someone like Giulio Andreotti even exists though. He's like a cartoon character.

There were a couple of funny bits (I had to laugh at the eclair scene, come on) but for the most part it was just bad. And surprisingly racist, or at the least aggressively stereotypical. Ryan Reynolds was like a fourth-rate Jim Carrey circa Ace Ventura and the plot was just completely absurd. And really, Tara Reid as the "it girl"?

Strange movie...funny at times, awkward/sad at others. Definitely not your usual Rogen movie and definitely misrepresented somewhat in the commercials. I don't think it really works as a coherent movie. It's so disjointed, and Rogen's character is such a sociopathic asshole you never feel like cheering for him (in fact I could see more viewers cheering against him). Good for the writer/director for trying something different, but I wasn't a big fan...
